WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT MUSHROOMS?
It was predicted that 2022 was going to be the "Year of the Mushroom". Fungi did and continues to appear in home decor, clothing, food trends, mental health breakthroughs and pop culture. Björk calls her newest album named Fossora her "mushroom album". A search of mushroom 2023 shows that many are predicting the trend will only continue and grow.
If you would like to learn more about fungi, consider attending one of our fun and informative classes that are held at The Necessary Mercantile in Churchville, Virginia.
We have two dates: Tuesday, February 7, 2023 and Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 11:00-3:00pm.
Enchanted Nature Tours inc. is offering a one-day intensive course. We will discuss the life cycle and role of fungi in the ecosystem. Anatomy will be covered in the context of identifying edible and poisonous mushrooms that live in our region. We will finish out the day with cultivation techniques and cooking suggestions. The presentations include powerpoint slides, hands on exhibits, and a cooking demonstration.
Lunch and handbook is included. Every student will create and take home an inoculated log to grow their own mushrooms (a $25.00 value).
